Deals Hiding in your Mailbox!

As Christmas gets closer, stores are doing everything they can to pull you in. Clearly, they know about last minute shopping and they want to be your “go to” final stop. They’re sending e-mails and mailings galore.  Do not ignore those coupons in your mailbox – use them to your advantage!

Talbots has been sending out $15 certificates (off of a $15 purchase), to anyone who has either a Talbots credit card, or a Talbots rewards card (which is free to sign up for, and free to use)!

In addition to the $15 certificate, they also have 30% off the entire store including sale items! Well, I’ve been in need of some socks, so when I saw these styles covered in penguins, bows & polar bears, I went directly to the register. All normally $9.50 each, I ended up getting 3 pairs for only $5.25 including tax! That’s over 80% off!! Just like Express (see my previous post) Talbots took the percent discount prior to the dollar off discount which helped a lot.

‘Till next time, use those mailbox deals to your advantage – and check back tomorrow to see two other amazing deals I scored this weekend!

Unbelievable deal!

It’s been quite a while since my last post, but this is definitely worth a share!

The Limited sent me a coupon in in the mail: $20 off your purchase of $20 or more. Plus, the whole store was 60% off! I found an incredibly comfortable pair of black pants marked $59.95.  The best part: when I went to the register, they took the % discount before the dollar discount (most stores won’t do that)!!

Conclusion – $60 pants for $4.23 WITH tax. Over 92% off!!

‘Till next time – make the most of your dollar!

Mid-week finds!

Today I had a realization: mid-week shopping is incredibly peaceful and relaxing! Parking is easier, lines are shorter, it’s quieter, and you don’t have to fight the crowds!

Unfortunately, I don’t get the mid-week shopping luxury often but I took a vacation day today!!

Remember that Vince tee that I scored at TJ’s a few months back for a fraction of the normal price?  (It’s become a staple and I’ve literally worn it every week since) Well, today Marshalls was fully stocked with Vince separates for autumn.

I got this amazing pair of pants for under $30 – that’s 90% off the original price!  Even their outlet store prices are WAY higher.

These are certainly going to become a wardrobe staple, just like the tee.  They are extremely comfortable and feel like leggings, yet they look like trousers so I can wear them to the office!

‘Till next time.  Keep saving!

Labor Day Sales!

Labor Day weekend was full of excitement: spent time scrapbooking, tried some amazing new restaurants (thanks, groupon), explored downtown Mystic, and celebrated “laboring” by shopping, of course!

Lets start with the Nordstom Rack “Clear the Rack” sale where all red-tag items are an additional 25% off!  This adorable $78 robe came to $14.25!

Next – even though I normally hate Kohl’s, they sent me a $5 reward card in my e-mail and I also had a 20% off coupon.  The result: 2 dish towels for $1.24 – $14.81 savings!

image

Then we took a quick trip to the mall.  I had a $10 reward card to Victoria’s Secret so this turquoise $20 high-neck sports bra came to $10.63 with tax!  And my favorite deal? I had a $20 reward card for Ann Taylor and all sale items were an extra 60% off.  I got two items worth $60 for  only $5.52 including tax (super comfortable tee & classic bangle bracelet)!!

I did get one more REALLY amazing 73% off deal at BCBG, but I’ll wait to share that with you!

‘Till next time! Enjoy the rest of your Labor Day!

Versatile Basics for Less:

Okay.  I’ll make this post short & sweet.  It’s been a successful week.  Besides doing a CVS run full of everyday essentials worth $78 for under $10 (9 to be exact)… I also found something I’m constantly looking for: a plain navy tee!

Throughout the past month, I’ve said “I wish I had a nice plain white [or navy] tee” more times than I could count.  So today I stopped at TJ’s (I had a gift card!) and found the perfect navy one within a matter of minutes!!

Soft, not too tight, flowy but not baggy, and not too short!! AND 80% off the original price!

This Vince Tee is the perfect wardrobe addition.  While the $125 price tag  is outrageous$24.99 isn’t that bad for a staple! Now if they only had it available in white too!!

‘Till next time 🙂

Shop Summer Now!

Summer sales are in full swing but fading fast. Even though it’s hard to think of leaves, pumpkins and chilly nights in this heat-wave, the autumn styles will be out before you know it. Forget “Back-to-School” – the craft stores are already displaying Halloween and Thanksgiving items!! (This is actually good for all of us crafters to get a head start on the upcoming holidays!)

If you scroll back through my posts, an entire year, you’ll find out how much I love the “Red Hanger Sale” at Talbots – it’s definitely the time to stock up! Prices are completely slashed. Not only are spring and summer items redlined, they are an additional 50% off of the sale price. Want a deeper discount? Use your Talbots card for an extra 5% off everything (think of it as almost covering the tax).

In addition, this weekend, regular price styles are ALSO 50% off. That includes swimsuits and their new July collection.

Today I got to sport some of my finds for Dress Down Friday at work. The “Perfect Sleeveless Shirt” is exactly as named: Perfect. It’s iron-free and completely wearable right out of the dryer. The beautiful marigold color definitely brightens things up after a week full of classic navy and black! This was originally $69.50 – marked down to $64.50. Slice that in half and the shirt ran just over $30! That’s 55% off!

Now, if you’re patient – these prices will be discounted even further within the next few weeks but the racks clear fast!

Since it’s Friday, I was allowed to wear denim, and my new “Not Your Daughters Jeans” from Nordstrom Rack accompanied the button up shirt perfectly! Okay, okay, maybe NYDJ’s are not made for under-thirty-somethings or under-forty’s for that matter, BUT my skinny jeans just don’t cut it for the office and if you spent just one day in NYDJ’s I promise you’ll be hooked! I’ll just save my 7 for All Mankind and True Religion styles for the weekends.

Not only are these the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever worn, I NEVER tugged at the waistband or pulled them up the entire day. That’s pretty much unheard of for my sans-hips self. Besides that, they’re not too tight, nor too baggy and have just the right amount of stretch. PLUS, I did NOT have to get them hemmed – they were somehow the PERFECT length. Bring on a few more pairs (especially if I could find more at the price I paid)!

I stopped by Nordstrom Rack about a week ago and found these jeans on the clearance rack marked down to $17.10 – only $18.19 with tax! These were originally $114 so that’s exactly 85% off? I’ll take it!

My entire outfit was $20 LESS than what the shirt alone would have cost me if I paid full price for it (if that were to EVER happen).

‘Till next time – stay cool and grab your summer finds before it’s too late!

Then and Now:

Days can go by so quickly when schedules get hectic: between sleep, work, fitness, social activities, cooking, eating and cleaning, 24 hours passes in the blink of an eye.  But, when you add 365 days together, so much more can happen!

I think back to a year ago, when I was flying to Florida to take a week-long road trip with my fiancé (now husband) up to Connecticut.  A year later, our wedding and honeymoon are behind us, and that road trip seems like such a distant memory.

But I still remember enough to tell you about it:

We took a lot of breaks on our 1000mile road trip, to explore new areas and sight see.  After stopping in Savannah, Georgia for lunch and a trolley tour, we made our way to Charleston, South Carolina.  Besides the bought of ghost activity in the Barksdale House Bed & Breakfast (still spooks me!), we loved the area.  We found a strip of stores and restaurants within walking distance of our B&B and definitely took advantage of strolling around to stretch our legs.

Not only did I pick up a pair of Pink Tusk-In-Sun elephant shorts at Lilly Pulitzer (which were sold out in my size everywhere else at the time!), Kate Spade was also having their annual Work.Play.Sale!  I had a ball trying on piles of clothes in their beautifully wallpapered fitting room adorned with velour bow-shaped pillows and inspirational quotes on the mirrors.

At this point our wedding was 10 months away – but by now you should know I plan ahead! (Way ahead!)  As I contemplated between a few dresses, I decided on the cream colored fit&flare Tanner dress – knowing it would be perfect for our rehearsal dinner.  It’s a comfortable blend of cotton & silk that can be dressed up or down.

The (original) price was a little hefty: $448.  BUT: the sale price slashed that in half to $224.  Calculate the additional 30% off… down to $156.80! That’s 65% off!!

What comes around goes around – it’s a year later and the Work.Play.Sale is BACK at Kate Spade until July 5th!  Check our their website or a local store to receive an additional 30% off their already-reduced sale items!

And a year later… The reveal out of the garment bag:

Give a Little, Get a Lot

Last week, my fiancé asked me if I wanted to go to Wrentham on Saturday.  I hesitantly answered yes…  There’s really no reason he’d want to drive two hours just to shopping.  I knew there would be a catch.  I later found out there was a New England Revolution vs. Orlando City soccer game at Gillette Stadium that same night.  An afternoon of shopping in return for sitting through a two hour soccer game – I can agree to that.

Shopping at Wrentham: awesome stores, awesome deals plus no tax on clothes and shoes.  We started our trip with an awesome late breakfast at Cracker Barrel (it was my first time) then made our way to the management office to pick up our AAA coupon booklet (always remember to grab this first, or you’ll miss out on additional sales and promotions!!)

Let me fast forward to my best find of the day.  I had been searching for jeans.  Every Friday, when I’m allowed to wear jeans to work, I thrown my strait-leg Kate Spade, dark denim (I have multiple of the same since I loved them so much!).  I still love the style and fit, but even with multiple pairs and very careful laundering, they’ve started to fade and I felt like I should mix up my wardrobe a bit.  I wanted something comfortable, mid to high rise, without any lines or ‘washed’ effect.  I found exactly that in 7 For All Mankind!

These jeans were originally $215.  Then marked down to $149… then to $99… $39…. you get the picture.  All sale items were an additional 50% off too, so, I left that store spending LESS than $20 on an awesome pair of new jeans.  That’s OVER 90% off the original price!

image

Okay, okay, I’ll have to spend $7 at the tailor to get them hemmed, but I’d have to do that no matter how much the jeans cost!

The soccer game wasn’t too bad either….  ‘Till next time – stay stylish!

75% Off The Dress of your Dreams!

If you’ve been keeping up with my posts, you know I love everything that’s pink and full of bows!  So here’s my story about the perfect pink bow dress.

image

Have you ever seen something and knew it was just made for you – it fits your style perfectly.  It just calls your name and is pure perfection.  Back in September, I saw that “perfect” dress posted on Instagram.  I contacted the woman who posted the picture to find out where I could get it and she let me know the photo was taken at a Kate Spade outlet store – but the store she took the photo in was halfway across the country!
I looked on their website, I looked on e-bay, and I could not find the dress!

Then, Columbus day weekend rolled around.  All of the sudden, my local Kate Spade outlet had stocked the dress and I immediately grabbed it off the rack.  It fit, but not perfectly – I needed it taken in, but I figured my tailor could deal with that.  I knew the dress would have a high price tag, but it was the PERFECT color to wear to my bridal shower in April.  Thankfully, holiday weekends = SALES!  At retail stores, the dress sells for $428 – the outlet price was $345.

The promotion for Columbus Day weekend was great – 50% off each item, plus an additional 20% off your entire purchase!  That made $345 drop down to $138 – that’s a 60% total savings off the outlet price!

image

You might ask – why is she posting about this dress deal five months after she bought it?  Well, I planned on posting this in April (I wouldn’t want to post the photos before wearing it) !  But that all changed this past weekend: I unfortunately (and sadly) had to return it.  My tailor regrettably could not make it fit me right – NOT cool.
And now I have less than a month to find something just as perfect!

But you on the other hand, now know about this awesome deal is still available:  I bet you wont believe they still have this dress (and rack-fulls of others) available at the outlet – and it’s now UNDER $90! That’s 75% off of the outlet price!  At that price, they certainly wont last long so hurry to get the best selection!

‘Till next time, stay stylish!

Spring Treats! (Special Coupon Code in Post!)

Hopefully you took advantage of some of the “Leap Year” sales & deals yesterday, like a free cup of tea at David’s Tea!

If not, there’s still so many deals for spring ahead (21 days away, but who’s counting!).

In addition to the spring countdown, I have a few others going on… my wedding and honeymoon to name a few!  In just over three months I’ll be headed to clear turquoise water, white sand and palm trees swaying in the breeze.

Lands End has been sending me e-mails galore full of new spring and summer merchandise, and when I saw an adorable polka dot bikini, they had my attention.  Each piece was pretty pricy since these are brand new items,
but I thought I could treat myself for this special tropical trip ahead.
Plus, their baiting suit fit and quality are certainly hard to beat.

image

Even though I was treating myself, I still couldn’t bear to pay full price (WHY should I?)
I didn’t have to.  It’s Friends & Family!  Right now, your ENTIRE Lands End purchase is an additional 30% off!  You’ll also receive free shipping if you spend over $50!

Until Midnight tonight, you can get this deal too using Code: PAL302 Pin: 7000

Have fun stocking up for spring (or grabbing last minute winter clearance for next year)!
‘Till next time, save a dime!
